Hello!

It's so lovely to see that you'd love to learn more about the Peg Family Portrait© prints. They're by far one of my top sellers.

As the original creator of these, I am incredibly proud of what they've become today. They were created back in April 2017! A severe inability to paint cleanly led to me reimagining the idea into my unique minimalist drawing style. My inspiration came from the beautiful Peg Doll characters you can see widely available online by some incredibly talented artists.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Peg Family Portraits

Where did you get the idea?

Back in April of 2017, as I was preparing to launch Sweet Petite as a brand that made 'sweet things for rad littles,' I stumbled upon a shape as I was designing another print. It was late at night, and this shape sparked a huge light within me. I had a toddler and an almost six-month-old. This scenario meant I would probably have to tend to them soon, but this idea needed me to explore it. In-depth, because that's what I do.

I googled for days, and I could not find a single person creating custom Peg Family Portraits in the way I intended. This 'discovery' led to me creating a few prototypes for families for
friends, and I made refinements before the public launch. The launch of these was insane for an incredibly new business - I'd contacted a few people who had good followings (influencers) and created a portrait print for them each in return for sharing about it on their social media.

How do you do it?

I customise each print, exaggerating personal features such as hairstyles or glasses. Doing this enables me to truly capture the essence of each person and create a true lookalike character.

Using industry-standard Adobe design software means your new portrait is of the highest quality possible. I have over a decade's experience using Adobe products and only design in vector format, meaning that your drawing will look great printed at any size.

Why do you do it?

I love bringing families together in illustration, whether from different countries or those who are no longer with us.

These illustrations are a unique family portrait artwork representing those you love, both near and far. One of the great bonuses to having a family portrait created like this is that you don't all have to be in the same place together!
